Whether you choose to just walk around this bustling square or enjoy the views from above by going up the clock tower, this area is a must for any visit to Prague. The clock tower also has an astronomical clock that has special mechanisms for representing where different celestial bodies are in space.
2. Climb the Old Town Bridge Tower
One of my favorite views of Prague is from the top of the Old Town BridgeTower looking down over Charles Bridge. A lot of places in Prague have discounts so if you are a student be sure to bring your I.D.!
3. Take a River History Tour
We enjoyed seeing the waterways of Prague by boat and hearing about the history of the city. The river that runs through Prague is the Vltava. This river also runs through other cities in the Czech Republic such as Česky Krumlov which is definitely worth a visit if you have time.
4. Visit the John Lennon Wall
Symbolizing free speech, this wall is a vibrant display of expression. It can be crowded so you may want to go early in the morning.
5. Visit the Central Gallery of Prague
The Central Gallery is located in Old Town Square, pictured above. We really enjoyed the Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol pieces.
6. Cross Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge connects the Old Town of Prague to the Lesser Town. You will pass by 30 statues when you cross the bridge and may also encounter musicians and performers if you are lucky.
7. Tour Prague Castle
Prague Castle is beautiful and even more enjoyable if you can understand the history. I would recommend the audio tour if it’s available.
8. Take Delight in the Food
If you read my posts often then this probably doesn’t surprise you. What can I say? I love food. The picture above is from Cafe Cihelna where we got mid-day dessert, which is always needed. Since I did not try enough places to write an entire Prague food post, I will highlight the food spots we enjoyed. Brunch spots: Pastacaffé (surprisingly not pasta), Nostress, Home Kitchen. Dinner: Pepenero Restaurant (great pizza and pasta).
